You’re correct. I suppose I was going for hyperbole by intending to state that Islamic fundamentalism (like extremists in all religions) have a “medieval” state of mind.

By the way, Islamic fundamentalism is not “medieval”; it is a product of the 19th century.

I’m sure that it stared because Hafez wanted the Joos gone as bad as the Mullahs did. Now with Bashir in charge, I do think there is a shot at some sort of peace agreement with Syria.

As for Palestine, I think if Iran is removed from the picture and a peace agreement with Syria is in place, the Palestinian cause will eventually burn itself out due to lack of support. That, or they’ll eventually kill so many of each other during this civil war that there wont be enough remaining to continue their circular firing squad.
