In a move to decrease the number of high-school dropouts, New York City is allowing students to take up to seven years to finish their secondary educations instead of the typical four.
This is just one of many ways in which high school in the United States needs to be reformed. Some high school students, as well as an increasing number of college students, need more time to finish their educations than the arbitrary number of years that society has preferred.
