Culture Shock of the Moment

After liv­ing in Boston for nearly ten years, I became used to jay­walk­ing. I did it all of the time, and so did every­one else. Nearly all Israelis, however, wait for the light to change, and they cross only at the des­ig­nated loca­tions. Israelis always seem to be in a hurry, so this adher­ence to a commonly-ignored law is surprising.
