JERUSALEM — Most people are aware that many Arabs were displaced by the founding of Israel in 1948. Some were forced to leave by Israel, others left voluntarily or at the urging of their local leaders.
However, most people do not realize that many Jews were displaced as well. After Israel was founded, many Middle Eastern countries forced the Jews living in those places to leave. Most ended up in Israel. See here for more information.
