What motivates two people to involve themselves in a relationship shouldn't be the chance to fulfill a role that allows you to pat yourself on the back. That's juvenile. Relationships are about intimacy and mutual support between two human beings. This author's assessment of what drives a loving commitment between a man and woman is utterly shallow. And shame on anyone who agrees with it. He clearly hasn't done his research either. Alimony, in the case of divorce, goes to the partner who makes less money... it's not divided according to gender. The only case I know of in my personal experience, the woman is supporting the man. She supported him while he was a struggling actor- and she's supporting him now that they are divorced through alimony. So it cuts both ways. In the end, this article only supports to assertions made by Kimmel. The author's logic is that it's easier to play around with porn and one night stands than tackle the challenges of relating to another human being on a deeper level, and sticking it out through the ups and downs. That's sad. And it's not what I'm looking for ever in a man. This is absurd.
