But it's not young people who have led the USA to the brink of bankruptcy and moral decline. The founding stock of people who fought the war of independence are a minority now. Most of America's cultural and ethnic inheritance is from immigrants who arrived after this time, particularly in the last hundred years. America has become politically and economically fragmented along ethnic lines. I agree with James Anderson that Obama is not trying to lead America towards a true renewal. America is on the path to totalitarianism. It didn't start with Obama but he's increasing the size of government and the power of the state. If the Tytler cycle is accurate, the American people are becoming ever more dependent on the state. That's the stage where the cycle is at. The state has ever greater say in peoples' lives. Ever more people rely on the state for a living and it's becoming ever harder to live independently of it. Most other Western countries are at a similar stage.
