Your required-reading for the day: Charlotte Allen writes a lengthy essay on the modern, singles scene in the West, which she, perhaps ironically, believes is a throwback to tens of thousands of years ago as a result of feminism; technology; game-playing, Alpha males; sexually-liberated, successful women; ignored, Beta males; delayed marriage; extended adolescence; and a hook-up culture.
Here are my thoughts on the same subject.

On the one hand, she’s talking about how the “college-educated” are the ones leading this debaucherous revolution; on the other, she’s saying marriage is safest in the shrinking class of the “college-educated.” Just one of many flaws with the reasoning and, indeed, the whole argument that feminism or women’s lib is the root of all problems.
I do, however, agree with the author on one point: “Roissy’s blog is an unflinching look at female nature at its very worst: the acquisitiveness, the narcissism, the self-absorption, the selfishness, the superficiality, the brainlessness, the wayward lust as powerful as any man’s.”
I’d expand, that, however, to include men.
I’m not throwing stones here – everyone has their failings – but modern American society celebrates hedonism, and hedonism was, according to some, the downfall of Rome.
Just sayin’.
