Demographic changes have always been an underrated influence on politics and society. Due to low birth rates and immigration, Europe is becoming increasingly Islamic. Due to low birth rates and immigration, the United States is becoming increasingly Hispanic.

And due to a one-child policy and a culture that values sons over daughters, China is facing the frightening prospect of having millions of men who will never find wives. See here.
