Liraz Mad­mony is a 23-year-old law stu­dent from Sderot, the Israeli city that has faced 10,000 rock­ets from Hamas over the past eight years. She addressed the U.N. Human Rights Coun­cil on Mon­day. Here is the text of her statement.

The UNHRC later voted to con­demn Israel’s offen­sive in Gaza and send a fact-finding mis­sion to inves­ti­gate alleged abuses against Pales­tini­ans by the Israeli mil­i­tary. Of course, it must be noted that the coun­cil is a com­plete farce run by the biggest human-rights abusers in the world and a plat­form used solely to con­demn Israel.
