[In addition to my comments on the Torah portions and my excerpts from the new translation of the Zohar, I will frequently post bits of Jewish law from the Shulchan Aruch that I find interesting.]
- Every year on the anniversary of the death of one’s father or mother, one must fast, examine one’s deeds that day, and repent for any wrong that was done. By doing this, one brings merit to the deceased so that he or she will be exalted in the World to Come. (Ch. 221, Pt. 1)
