JERUSALEM — In case you missed it, here is the recent “Simpsons” episode in which the family visits the Holy Land. Here are some of my favorite Simpsons quotes from this individual show:
- “Let me see… take my family to a war zone in a bus full of religious lameos to a country with no pork in a desert with no casinos! Where do I sign up?” — Homer, wondering if he should go
- “Latkes aren’t as good as American pancakes… OK, OK, they’re good with applesauce!” — Homer, while being harassed by Israeli security at the airport.
- I understood almost all of the Hebrew insults that the tour guide spoke and then yelled at Israeli passersby!
- “What, Israeli people are pushy? How about you experience a couple of genocides and see how laid back you are! You stay there, surrounded by your great enemy, Canada! Try Syria for two months — then we’ll see who’s pushy!” — the tour guide, played by Sasha Baron Cohen
